Shellie Pfohl, appointed by President Obama in February, 2010 as Executive Director of the President’s Council on Fitness, Sports and Nutrition (PCFSN), has spent her career focusing on teaming government with nonprofits and the private sector, with a concentration on community health education and promotion. As Executive Director of the PCFSN, she manages the activities and operations of the President’s Council, an advisory committee to the President and the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). In addition, Ms. Pfohl leads the Council’s efforts related to First Lady Michelle Obama’s national Let’s Move! campaign to solve childhood obesity within a generation.

Seth Wescott is one of the most accomplished and decorated athletes in snowboarding history highlighted by two Olympic gold medals and a World Championships title. A member of the U.S. Snowboarding team for more than a decade, Wescott is a four-time U.S. National Champion, eight-time Winter X Games medalist, and three-time World Championships medalist. The Maine native understands the importance of giving back and has been an active member of his community as a mentor and motivator at the local, regional, and state levels. An advocate for active and healthy living, Wescott has been appointed by Governor John Baldacci of Maine as an ambassador of “Take it Outside,” a state-wide initiative to encourage Maine’s children and families to reconnect with nature. Wescott also serves as a spokesperson for “WinterKids,” a program established to encourage and help young people be active, and enjoy all that winter sports have to offer in Maine. Most recently, Wescott has partnered with several other world-class athletes in support of the “Level Field Fund,” a grant-making program that bridges gaps in funding for uniquely talented athletes in need of financial assistance.

Matt Bean is AVP, Mobile, Social and Emerging Media at Rodale Inc. He works across all Rodale properties to develop concepts, ideas and products around mobile, gaming, video and social media. Bean has launched over 40 mobile applications and oversaw the creation and launch of Rodale’s first-to-market iPad platform. In 2010, ASME honored the Eat This, Not That! app with the Best Interactive Tool award. Additionally, Bean oversaw the launch of Rodale’s first gaming endeavor for the Microsoft Kinect title, YourShape: Fitness Evolved.

Eisenhardt is a mechanical engineer by trade with an MBA in entrepreneurship. His academic qualifications, a distinguished background in management consultancy, combined with his passion and understanding of sport puts Recon Instruments in the best possible position to innovate the sports industry. Recon Instruments aims to bring real-time information in a sleek, affordable, lightweight personal display solution to athletes in all sports.

Dr. Michael (Mike) Foley is the Executive Director of the Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG). He is responsible for guiding the qualification and interoperability programs, promotion of the technology, the specification publications, and the long-term roadmap of Bluetooth wireless technology. Under Dr. Foley’s direction, Bluetooth technology has experienced phenomenal growth and consumer acceptance. Since his arrival at the helm, he has pushed through an ambitious roadmap, demanding substantial improvements in interoperability and security. In 2007, Dr. Foley was awarded the Telematics Leadership Award for achievements and innovation in the telematics market with Bluetooth wireless technology.

Janine Kutliroff , CEO and co-founder is a visionary leader in the area of advanced technologies. As the ANT team director, Rod Morris is responsible for leading the company through the next dynamic phases of ANT and ANT+ development and growth. Opher Pail, President of Fitness Technologies, Inc. a NJ based waterproof electronics company. Mr. Pail holds numerous patents for successfully commercialized consumer products and is a sought after consultant internationally for his expertise in product and business development. Previously he held senior management positions in business development and operations with Diam International and Wenger Swiss Army Brands. Gerard is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist for EA SPORTS Active. With over 10 years of experience in the fitness industry, he brings a wealth of knowledge to the team where he develops a fitness experience based on exercise science that is both fun and effective. Before EA SPORTS Active, Gerard spent seven years at Twist Conditioning, training and presenting at educational conferences across North America and Australia. He has written numerous articles for industry publications, provided expert fitness council to consumer publications and has appeared on CBS’, The Doctor’s.

Linda is an internationally recognized fitness and wellness consultant, certified trainer, speaker and health writer. She was inducted into the National Fitness Hall of Fame in March, 2007. Linda has authored eight books, and produced/directed/choreographed more than 350 DVDs , in addition to co-producing three award-winning television fitness shows. Linda serves as President of her two companies LIFESTYLEscapes™ and SOULjourn, as well as serving on the Executive Advisory Board and Elite Trainer for Beamfit™.

Gina Smith is editor of the soon to relaunched Byte.com. An industry veteran, she has covered technology for CNET, Wired, PC Week, Popular Science, the MIT Tech Journal and many other media. She was ABC News’ first national technology correspondent and appeared weekly explaining tech news and views on Good Morning America and World News Tonight. She wrote the award-winning weekly Inside Silicon Valley column for a dozen years. Her award-winnning radio show, Connected with Gina Smith, was syndicated over the ABC Radio Network. Smith lives in San Francisco.

Ivo is also one of the company’s original 4 founders. At BodyMedia, he leads the Advanced Development efforts and directs the Intellectual Property portfolio. Ivo is also a core member of the company’s Strategic Alliances and Corporate Strategy Teams. Before BodyMedia, Ivo was President, Chief Invention Officer, and co-founder of SANDbOX Advanced Development. H e holds an M.S. in Interaction Design, with a concentration in integrated product development and a B.F.A. in Industrial Design, with a concentration in sculpture, both from Carnegie Mellon University. In addition Ivo is founder and co-director of two of CMU’s interdisciplinary studios: the Interaction Design Studio (ID Studio) at the Institute for Complex Engineered Systems (ICES) and the award-winning Mobile + Wearable Computing Design Studio at the Engineering Design Research Center (EDRC). His collaborative works have been recognized in numerous national and international consumer, industry, and academic publications for their innovative design applications. He is also the co-inventor on over 90 patents internationally (15 issued, others still pending). Julie Sylvester, Co-Producer of the Sports Fitness and Outdoors Summit and Exhibit, is on the surface a gym rat but underneath a couch potato. Always looking for the latest technology gadget or training aid that will help her spend less time in the gym and more time on the internet playing video games* while still maintaining the status quo. She started a career in the theatre by relocating from the Midwest to the East Coast and eventually ended up in New York. Her production company Julie & Friends produces private and corporate events as well as fundraisers. She is on the Board of the League of Professional Theatre Women and the Co-Chair for the 30th Anniversary Celebration of the League in 2012.

Richard leads PR, brand strategy and marketing activities at the nonprofit HopeLab and its subsidiary social enterprise Zamzee. At HopeLab, founded by Pam Omidyar, Richard drives dissemination of insights from HopeLab’s R&D work to harness the power and appeal of technology to motivate positive health behavior in young people. At Zamzee, Richard plays a key role in managing product development and marketing strategies.

Duncan Walsh was a professional squash player for 15 years. Having started the sport for recreation as a complete beginner at age 19, Duncan went on to beat world class players, often 10-15 years his junior, and won the world 40+ championship in 2006. Now working with top UK engineers, Duncan has taken his fanatical approach to fitness and applied it to a series of innovative products to “motivate and inspire” others.
